A fantastic antique basket. Made from porcelain and dating from the 19th century this piece we believe is made by the Samson factory. Edmé Samson was born in Paris in 1810. His company Edmé Samson et Cie was created in 1845.  it doesn't have a makers mark and many pieces made by Samson were unmarked. This stunning pierced basket is all hand painted and has the English crest to each size with the Lion and Unicorn. His works have since become collectible in their own right, particularly the armorial or heraldic crest pieces. This piece has a stunning raised design which is tactile. A fabulous period piece, prefect to incorporate into a modern home to add soul and character to a space.

There is a significant historic repair to one handle, where it has been glued and over painted. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
