A fantastic set of four antique books. Written in French and is the History of Rome by Charles Rollin and Jean-Baptiste Louis Crevier. Published in Paris. An incomplete and distress set, consisting of volume 1 - 1738, volume 3 - 1739, volume 4 - 1740 and volume 10 -1744. These has the personal library labels for 'Charles Smith', and are hand written by him to the front and dated 1768. With a pull out map to one edition. A much loved set of books which are distressed to the spine and with one copy missing its back board. They are over 200 years old! A fabulous decorative set to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and charm or to read and enjoy.
Condition
Bumped corners and spine. Foxing to some pages. Back board missing to one copy. Shows lots of signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
