A fantastic antique bound book. Titled 'Marty's Virgil' to red tooled leather panel to the spine. Written by John Martyn, dated 1749and is the second edition. This is an early edition of 'The Bucolicks of Virgil'. With several pull out black and white illustrated plates. John Martyn was a respected Professor or Botany at the University of Cambridge. There is a personal library plate for 'Cecil D Wray A.M, F.C.C. Manchester'. We believe this book was owned by Reverend Cecil Wray, Senior Canon of Manchester. The brown leather blinding has a rich warm hue. A very old book with lots of history. Perfect for any collector or to read and enjoy.
