A fantastic antique bound book. Titled 'Surgical Works' by John Abernethy. This is the second volume and is bound in fine leather with gilt embossed spine. It specialises on injuries to the head, which included tumours and abscesses. An early book by a renowned surgeon and produced to help students. There is a fabulous black and white illustration, titled 'exploration of the plate'. A great period book, perfect for any collector or to ready and enjoy.
Condition
Bumped corners and spine. Foxing to some pages. One page has a small area missing. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
