A fantastic collection of antique of three anatomical plates. We have framed them in original Victorian museum frames. The engravings are by W.H Lizars from the book of his brother, the surgeon John Lizars, "A System of Anatomical Plates of the Human Body", circa 1824. The book was Previously the property of Sir William Whitla, who gifted this to the well-known anatomist and zoologist John Symington. Symington left it to Queen's University Library after his death, and it subsequently resided in the Bishop's Palace of Kilmore.

The museum frames are of exceptional quality made from mahogany. They would have originally been housed in a cabinet and each is numbered with a brass handle to remove from the cabinet. We have used brass picture plates so now they can be mounted to a wall. A stunning set of rare anatomical engravings now in antique frames, perfect for any collector or in the field, or just to add soul and character to a modern interior.
