A fabulous antique cast brass candlestick. Stamped by the maker H. Picard. Henri Picard was a renowned metal worker in Paris between the 1830's up to the end of the 19th Century. His company supplied to Napoleon III during the second empire period up to 1870. The period was characterised by elaborate design with influence from Louis XVI style.
This stunning cast brass candlestick has a stamp 2195 0000 to the base. We assume that it dates from the later part of the 19th Century. The candlestick has a fabulous ornate leaf design to the base, acanthus leaf to stem and mounted on a footed leaf. This stunning brass candlestick has a wonderful patina and is prefect for any modern interior to add soul and character.
