A fantastic 19th Century glass bell jar lantern. With makers marks for Val St Lambert, Made in Belgium. Val St Lambert is a Belgium Crystal manufacturer founded in 1826.

This glass bell jar lantern is made in around 1860. Originally it would have been used with a candle and were probably made for the British colonial market. It has a wonderful thick hand blown crystal glass with a glass smoke cap. Together with a stunning etched design of grape and leaf pattern. The brass hanging hoop has lovely phoneix heads. The lantern have been later converted to electricity with modern wiring making them more usable in a modern setting, but these could be removed for a traditional look.

These would look fantastic in a hall, above a table or on a veranda. Perfect to add soul and character to a modern interior.

Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.

24 cm diameter,  45 cm total height from top of smoke cap to bottom of bell.
