A fantastic antique pair of entree serving dishes. Full hallmarked by the maker, Goldsmiths Alliance Limited of Cornhill London. Also stamped the base is 'Best Sheffield Heavy Silver Plating'. In 1866 A.B. Savory & Sons became a Limited Company and changed names to Goldsmiths' Alliance Ltd. The company is strongly associated with the Savory Family. This is a quaity pair of dishes made with a heavier weight of silver plate, dating from the 1870s. With a lovely classic scalloped edge. A much loved pair where the base brass metal has worn through inside. Also to the back is a stamped a small bell logo, this was probably used by the large country house to identify its pieces. A fabulous, period set, perfect foro any Bridgerton fan, to use and enjoy.
Condition
Lots of surface scratches and some tarnishing. Base metal worn through. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
