Here for sale is a fantastic antique insect book plate. The book plate have been taken from The Imperial Dictionary by John Ogilvie and published by Blackie & Sons, dated 1878. It is signed J. W. Lowry. Joseph Wilson Lowry was an English engraver and had an interest in science and mathematics. It is also signed O. Jewitt to the bottom left corner. Orlando Jewitt was a British architectural wood-engraver, where many examples of his work was reproduced in reference books as prints and book plates.  This print has a wonderful detail and perfect for a collector or to display in any modern interior to add soul and character. 


Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
