A fantastic framed pair of antique anatomical plates. This original human biology plate have been salvaged from 'Johnston's Students' Atlas of Bones and Ligaments'. Dating from 1885, the book was very distressed. We have mounted the plates and its additional text into salvaged oak frames. They are near pair with similar framed made from oak.
These original Victorian lithographic plates were developed to help students with medical studies. Artist were used to accurately record each area of the body. The plate of the human skull and jaw are part of a collection we have. A lovely pair of prints, perfect for any collector or in the field, or to add soul and character to a modern interior.
Condition
Small gap to top of one print. Dark frame has two decorative knobs missing. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
