A fantastic supersized antique revolving bookcase by Trubner and Company of Ludgate Hill, London. With makers mark "The American Patent Revolving Bookcase, Manufactured by Trubner and Co. Ludgate Hill London". Trubner and Company are mentioned in the 1883 furniture dealers and cabinet makers guide. We believe the bookcase to date to circa. 1890.

It is rare to find these bookcases in this large size. It is of exceptional quality and the size makes it a real statement piece. It would look equally good in a home or retail environment for display and storage as well as a bookcase.

We believe that it is constructed from ash and walnut. It has a heavy cast iron supports to the base. The whole piece being of very sturdy construction in order to carry the large number of books. A fabulous rare find, perfect to add soul and character to any modern space.

There are some losses to the struts that hold the books in place. Does not effects their function. Wear to shelves. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
