A fantastic Original watercolour painting. It is of a West Country coastal scene and signed HW Hicks. Herbert William Hicks was a British Impressionist and Modern painter born in 1880 and died in 1944. He was born in Exeter, Devon and was part of a group of Dartmoor Artists inspired by F.J Widgery. He painted in watercolour and Gouache west country scenes of Dartmoor and coastal scenes.
With original label to back, stating 'The valley of rocks, Lynton', North Devon. Framed in a beautiful antique ornate original gilt frame with gold mount. It is a wonderful calm scene, perfect to add soul and character to a modern interior.
Condition
Looses to gilt frame. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
