A fantastic antique bentwood chair. Very much in the manor of Michael Thonet, unfortuately the label is missing. Thonet invented the process of steam bending wood under pressure and used this to design the classic bentwood cafe bistro chair.  Thonet, was granted patents for his invention in England, France, and Belgium in 1841.

A set of four chairs dating from the 1920s with stunning Art Nouveau embossed seat. With wonderful organic curved back rest and made from beech. These chairs work in many interiors, traditional and modern. We love them and have wrote a blog about these types of chairs. A design classic and perfect for a desk or for use as a dining chair. A fabulous period piece, perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.

Condition

Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
