A fantastic antique painting. A wonderful watercolour and pencil drawering by William Sidney Causer and is signed and dated for 1934. Causer (1876-1958) was a British artist and known for urban scenes. It has a lovely girl with bicycle in the foreground and lady with umbrella to the centre of the urban scene. It really is a stunning example of Causers work, with lots of atmosphere. It has an lovely timeworn patina, with foxing to the paper. The antique gesso plaster frame has its original gilt paint and has several looses.
Condition
Foxing to paper. Losses to frame. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
