Here for sale is a fantastic antique silver plate dish. It is stamped to the bottom with the makers name Mappin & Webb, date letter and pattern number, W27517. Joseph Mappin founded the business in 1810 and traded as an engraver in Sheffield. Princess plate was advertised from 1890. This fabulous example dates from the 1938 and has the date letter 'B'. This stunning silver plated filigree work tray has a great patina, perfect to style on the centre of a table with candles and greenery as a statement. We have a matching footed example available.


Scratches to surface of plate. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
