A fantastic antique pair of lamps. Originally they were shop display tea canisters and have been recently converted to a stunning pair of lamps. With makers plaque for Bartlett and Sons of Bristol. Bartlett and Sons specialised in shop weighing equipment. John Bartlett was registered from 1861 and by the end of the 19th Century were a successful thriving business which by 1913 were part of Avery. They also made shop display pieces such as these canisters, which date from the late 19th Century. They have a wonderful timeworn patina which really adds to there charm. We have had them professionally converted into lamps. With brass upstands, light fittings and red braided flex. They take a standard bayonet light bulb. Lampshades are not included. A rare period pair of canisters, perfect to add a burst of soul and character to any modern interior.
Condition
Lots of areas where paint is missing. One is missing its original collar, therefore orignally they were differet heights. The upstands are now slightly differnt heights so that the total height is the same. Shades are not included. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
Dimensions
24 cm diameter of base, 57 cm height
