A fantastic antique Victorian farm seed thrasher cover. This rare decorative salvaged cover is made from pine with cast iron fittings. The front has the wonderful hand painted name 'Clipper' and decorative boarder. It also has a cast iron plaque to the front with the initials of the maker 'B & S' and model number B3. This lovely decorative cover has been salvaged from a large farm machine which was used to separate small grains and seeds from the chaff and straw. The first thrashing machines were operated by horsepower and in the early 19th century were stationary and operated by tractors. They were superseded by combine harvesters in the 20th century.
This fabulous reclaimed piece has its original green paint and would be perfect in any indoor or outdoor space to add soul and character.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
