A fantastic antique cabinet. Stamped to the drawer edge 'Gillows of Lancaster'. In 1728 Robert Gillow began trading in Lancaster as a joiner, builder, house carpenter, and furniture maker. This example dated from the Victorian period before 1903 when Gillows merged with Warings of Liverpool to create Waring and Gillow. It has a stunning flame mahogany veneer to the front and brass edge to the door. The doors open to reveal a bank of four drawers with brass handles. The simple design to the front is very classical and would suit any modern home. The marble to the top is grey with a white vein running through it. A sign of quality and craftsmanship, the back is panelled too. A stunning piece of furniture, made by a quality maker and perfect to incorporate into a modern interior for storage and to enjoy.
Condition
