A fantastic antique 19th century pier mirror. With a Verre Eglomise panel above the original antique plate mirror. Of rectangular shape with moulded cornice with ball ornament and reeded columns to the sides. Verre Egomise refers to the painting on to the rear of the glass. In this case, the painting depicts boats in an estuary. The glass is cracked, but this does not detract from the quality of the picture. The gilt painted frame has a wonderful muted colour and tone and typical of this period. A stunning period mirror, perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Damage to the glass panel and missing a couple of ball ornaments. General wear marks, and small losses. Sign of overpainting of the gilt. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
Dimensions
