Here for sale is a fantastic set of antique encaustic tiles made by Maw & Co. Fully stamped on most of them with the address for the Benthall works. Made from clay and fired at the end of the 19th century, so arts and crafts. There are 54 tiles in total.

Maw & Co was established in 1850 by George and Arthur Maw. Their first factory was Worcester and later in 1862 moved to Broseley, Shropshire. In 1883 they moved to the Benthall works in Jackfield, Shropshire. A fantastic set of antique encaustic tiles with a lovely timeworn patina. Perfect to incorporate into a modern home to add soul and character to a space.

Shows lots of signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Many tiles are chipped and have several have corners missing. For age the surfaces are in great condition.

Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

We are a family company and love sourcing unusual pieces which bring a burst of individual style to the most modern of interiors, creating interiors with soul!
