Here for sale is a great pair of antique salt glazed ink bottles. Both are for Stephen's Ink, one has a label, the other has name stamped into the glaze. They both date from the 19th century and would have been regularly used by scholars at school and in the workplace. One bottle has a lovely stamped marked 'Stephens Aldergate St, London'. The company was registered in 1832 and first patented their ink in 1837. They started production in Aldergate Street in 1860 and went on to be a very successful company.

Both bottles have a lovely timeworn patina and would be fabulous used as a vase to add soul to the most modern of interiors.

Both bottles have chips to pouring spouts. Chips to base and to body, please refer to photos. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
