A fantastic antique hat box made by Allibhoy Vallijee & Sons. Allibhoy Vallijee & Sons were a renowned Anglo-Indian company specializing in the production of high-quality dispatch boxes during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their business was established in Mooltan Cantonment, India, with a focus on crafting intricate and durable boxes for military and government officials.
This hat box is the "Ladies Airtight Patent Hat Box". It opens fully at the top and the front. It has quality heavy brass fittings and the makers mark on a brass plaque and on the lock. The plaque on the inside has detail of the box including a unique box number.  A fabulous toleware travel case, perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
