A fantastic antique anatomical plate. This original human biology plate have been salvaged from 'Johnston's Students' Atlas of Bones and Ligaments'. Dating from 1885, the book was very distressed. We have mounted each plate and its additional text into an original museum specimen frame. These frames would have been part of a large bank of drawers and have metal number to top and double sided glass. It's amde from mahogany.
These original Victorian lithographic plates were developed to help students with medical studies. Artist were used to accurately record each area of the body. A fabulous period piece, perfect for any collector in the field, or to add soul and character to a modern interior. 
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
