A fantastic antique travel trunk. Dating from the early part of the 20th Century. With makers label for Army and Navy Cooperative Society Limited. Army and Navy was set up in 1871 by a group of officers to buy and sell wholesale. It became a large department store that supplied British Military Officers. Made from canvas with leather corners, edge and carry handles. There are original brass fittings and lock. Lovely striped fabric to interior. A well travelled piece which shows lots of signs of its adventures and history. With a travel label for GWR from Tiverton Station, Devon. A fabulous period piece, perfect to incorporate into a modern home, to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Some straps missing. Staining to interior fabric. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
