A fantastic antique oil lamp. Stamped with the maker, Kosmos Brenner to the winder knob. Originally invented by German company Wild & Wessel in 1865. This is a later example dating from the turn of the Century. Made from majolica pottery with the most exquisite painted cast metal design. The pottery has a charming Iris flower detail. The gilt painted metal has wonderful women cast to the centre and organic curves which is typical of the Art Nouveau period. With six arms for candles. It works on a pulley system, where by the chandelier can be raised and lowered. The ornate weight, means this is a heavy piece. With stamped glass funnel and green shade. A stunning antique piece, perfect to add personality and soul to any modern interior.
