A fantastic pair of antique servants call boards. These have been salvageged from Brownhill house in Southampton which was built in 1867 and was a grand family country home until the 1950's when it was converted into a care home.
Connected to each room throughout the house, these indicator boards flag to the servants when they are required and in which room. This large house required two boards! Each handmade board bears a mark for T. F. Lummus which we believe may have been added later, when the boards were overhauled. The boards have also been painted at some point in their history. Glass fronted and still with there electic coils inside. Although they have not been tested. These boxes are getting harder to find and a real nod to Downton House! Perfect for any collector or to add soul and character to any modern home.
Condition
Untest and very much as found. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
