A stunning, authentic piece of French commercial history: an antique countertop multi-tier paper roll dispenser and cutter, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
This beautiful industrial fixture features heavily detailed, ornate cast iron side brackets and two original hardwood shelves with integrated paper cutting blades. It proudly retains its original, stamped brass merchant plaque which reads: "PAPETERIE LORRAINE — PARIS", denoting its historic provenance as a commercial supplier for high-end Parisian stationery, butcher, or haberdashery shops.
Condition & Character:
Structure: The piece is missing its original, smaller third top tier. However, this actually makes it far more functional and practical for modern residential use, allowing it to easily sit on a standard kitchen countertop or craft table without hitting upper cabinets. The top wooden surface is smooth and makes an excellent shelf for display.
Patina: The cast iron retains a gorgeous, aged patina. The wood shows authentic wear, character marks, and weathering consistent with over a century of commercial use.
This is a spectacular statement piece for an interior designer, a unique wrapping/craft station, or a decorative retail counter display.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
