A fantastic antique donation box. With two brass slots for accepting money. Dating from the later part of the 19th century. These types of boxes were used in churches and chapels for donations. It has an exqusite Tunbridge type parquetry using different fruit woods in a mosaic design. With original brass escutcheon to the front. A much loved piece with lots of charm. Wonderful as a gift or to incorporate into a modern interior to add a burst of personality and soul.
Condition
Area of missing inlay around one of the money slots. Historical woodworm. No lock or key. Paper lining is distressed and peeling. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
