A fantastic antique writing slope. Made from tooled leather mounted on a wooden base. The black leather has a lovely gold banding. With original brass catches. Dating from the late 19th century. Inside the lift up blotter reveals a compartment for the storage of envelopes and pens. A period fountain pen is included. There is an original heavy glass ink well with brass top. There is a small compartment for the storage of nibs etc, with cute little know to the top. A well loved and worn piece. some splitting of leather to corners and blotter is much used. Perfect as a gift or to use and enjoy.
Condition
No makers mark. Shows lots of signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
