A fantastic antique metal stool. Made from cast iron and stamped with the makers name 'Cruickshank & Co, Denny'. Founded by Robert and Archibald Cruikshank in 1863 and later became a limited company 1901. The foundry was often referred to as Denny works. The company was taken over by Thomas Shanks in 1914. We believe that these stools are salvaged tram seats and date from the early part of the 20th century. They are heavy and very much as found as we have only given them a light clean.
We have two available and the price is for one. A fabulous salvaged piece from a famous maker. Perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Not height adjustable. Swivel mechanism is stiff on two of them. Tarnishing to iron in places. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
Dimensions
29 cm width, 27 cm depth, 41 cm height
