Here for sale is a fantastic old leather horse in the style of Omersa. Dimitri Omersa and his wife Inge came to England in 1955. Dimitri Omersa found work in the leather trade and whilst representing a small leather company in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. before long Omersa, designed and made leather animals from leather off cuts. They were introduced into Liberty's of London and became a success.
This example has it ears missings, so no Liberty mark. It is a stunning patina and the wonderful definition of the horse.
Shows lots signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Damage to ears, head and leg joints. The reins are missing and is generally in a poor state, but has a stunning look and patina. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
