Here for sale is a fantastic antique aesthetic movement side table. Lovely turned legs in the style of Edward William Godwin but unfortunately is unmarked. Edward William Godwin (1833-1886) was one of the key figures of the aesthetic movement in England during the 19th century. He was a self taught architect in the neo-Gothic style. He later became one of the most important figures of the Victorian Japonisme style of furniture design. Approaching design with what he called 'judicious eclecticism', he sought to capture the clean lines and simplicity of Japanese design while making it desirable for Victorian domestic homes.
Really useful table with carved detail to legs. Perfect as an occasional table in a lounge or bedroom.
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
