A fantastic antique oak desk. With brass makers plaque for Lebus. Made by Harris Lebus with the Registration Number 530470. After the death of Louis Lebus in 1879, Harris took over. The firm of cabinet makers grew during the Arts and Crafts period. Designers, craftsmen and draughtsmen were all employed to create high quality pieces for the Victorian middle classed. This example dates from the first part of the 20th Century. It has a bank of drawers to one side and pull out shelf. Its a great smaller size, perfect for a alcove or landing. When the tambour roll top is closed the drawers are locked. A great period piece.

Condition

The tambour pull down front is stiff, its old and fragile. No key so it may lock if fully closed. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
