A fantastic antique English cast brass "footman" or hearth trivet. With fantastic bulbous shaped front legs and very heavy brass, this is a super quality early 19th century example.
Would originally have been used as a stand for hot items and placed next to the open fire. These ornate versions would have been used in living areas, hence the name of footman that they replaced. Would make a wonderful low table, plant display stand. Perfect to incorporate into a modern space to add soul and character.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
Dimensions
50 cm width, 33 cm depth, 27 cm height
