A fantastic antique suitcase. With makers mark for Featherweight. Made from Vellum calfskin and indicate its high quality. The word Vellum is derived from the Latin word 'Vitulinum' meaning "made from calf", leading to old french vélin, or "calfskin". With original owners initals 'A.G.' to the front. A great suitcase which would have been used on steamer ships and trains at the turn of the century.  With original internal tray and beautiful silk lining. A wonderful example of a period trunk, perfect to add soul and character to any modern space.
Condition
Damage to one lock. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
