A fantastic rare antique bentwood swivel stool by Fischel. David Fischel founded DG Fischel & Son in Neimes, Czechoslovakia making bentwood furniture when the original patent registered by Michael Thonet expired in 1871. His son has actually worked for Thonet and by 1913 the company had expanded to work in Vienna too.
This is a rare example of a tall swivel chair. Dating from around 1920. Striking design and beautiful colour to the old beech bentwood. A fabulous period chair, perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.
Some movement due to age in the screws and joints, but still sound. Split to wood on seat. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
52 cm seat width, 70 cm legs width, 67 cm to 80 cm height
