The brass pillar is stamped with a faint, authentic "DÉPOSÉ" mark, confirming its historical French legal design registration. During the Victorian era, specialized Parisian workshops produced these precision instruments unbranded for school laboratories and traveling naturalists.
This piece comes equipped with its original, rare side-mounted bullseye condenser lens on an adjustable arm—a highly desirable accessory used to focus light directly onto specimens—alongside its pivoting sub-stage mirror and original glass optics.
With its rich, authentic aged patina and striking silhouette, this microscope makes a magnificent statement piece for a library, office desk, bookshelf, or curiosity cabinet.
