A fantastic antique cabinet. With Ivorine plaque with the makers name, Fribourg & Treyer of Haymarket, London. Fribourg and Treyer were british snuff and tobacco manufacturers and retailers and was founded in 1720. Made from mahogany with a cedar wood interior. Cedar wood is the material of choice for high quality humidors to maintain cigars and tabacco. This cabinet would have been used in a shop at the turn of the century to sell cigars and tabacco. With original brass plates to the back for wall mounting. A fabulous period piece, perfect as a spice or bathroom cabinet for storage. Adding soul and character to any modern space.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
