Here for sale is a fantastic early 19th Century sugar load cutter. It dates from the Georgian period, when sugar was delivered in a "sugar loaf" and sugar had to be cut from it for using. Sugar was a luxury and these fabulous sugar cutters are of super quality to show off the wealth of the household. This is a particularly stunning example and a real piece of 19th Century history. The beautiful metal work with a turned wooden handle and brass fixtures all mounted on a wooden plinth base. Perfect as a great decorative item to stage in an interior to add interest and character.
