A stunning pair of antique Victorian tiles. Stamped to the back with the makers mark, 'C O V', England. This is for Henry Abraham Ollivant at the Cliffe Vale pottery works in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Ollivant was well-known for producing high-quality Art Nouveau and Aesthetic Movement ceramic wares, particularly hand-painted, and highly stylized floral majolica tiles. They have a spectacular depth of colour in stunning vibrant green.
With wonderful ancantus leaf relief moulded design to the centre.Some crazing to surface of tile which adds to there charm. A fabulous example of a salvaged tile, perfect for display or to use and enjoy.
Condition
These are original reclaimed tiles and have nibbles to some corners and signs of mortar to the back as they have been used. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
