A fantastic antique serving dish set. Made from silver plate and stamped by the maker, James Dixon & Sons. Based in Sheffield, the company was founded in 1806. It is marked with the trumpet hallmark which was first introduced in 1873. This piece dates from the end of the 19th century.
It is a two serving dishes which can be used separtely or one used as a cover for the other. There are other hallmarks stamped to the lid. This piece would have been used in a large country house for entertaining. A stunning period piece, perfect to add soul and charater to any modern interior.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
