A fantastic antique pen or brush tray. Dating from the late 19th century and originally made in Japan, during the Meiji (1850 to 1899) period. With exquisite repousse iris design. It looks to have been made from spelter with a copper painted lacquer, as it has some weight but we may be wrong!. No makers mark. A lovely unique piece, perfect to incoporate into a modern interior to add a character and soul.
Condition
Corner missing. Much of the copper colour has worn away. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
Dimensions
23 cm width, 9 cm depth, 0.5 cm height
