Here for sale is a fantastic antique table. Made from papier mache, hand painted flowers and ebonised Japanned lacquer to top. Inlaid with a stunning mother of pearl detail very much in the manner of Jennens and Bettridge. The partnership between Theodore Hyla Jennens and John Bettridge in 1815, Birmingham. They were renowned for producing high quality papier mache items. This stunning tilt top table has toleware upstand and base, with cast iron claw feet. The wonderful detail to the top has exquisite flowers and foliage. There is a circle of gilt swags. An absolutely stunning piece with a fabulous design and detail perfect to add soul and character to an interior.
Condition
Small losses to mother of pearl to top. Top is a bit wobbly so with not take heavy objects. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
