A fantastic antique wine cooler. Made from silver plate and with the most stunning repousse decoration to the sides. Mounted on small ball feet and lovely lions head and ring carry handles. Fully stamped by the maker, John Gallimore of Sheffield. He was active at 126 to 128 Erye Street and Italian Work's, 35 to 37 Matilda Street, Sheffield. The business was in operation between 1876 to 1896. This is a much loved piece and has lots of wear and timeworn patina. It is water tight and can be used as a bottle holder on a grand table or crushed ice can be added to keep a bottle chilled.
Condition
Misshapen. Shows lots of signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
