A fantastic antique pair of copper jugs. Marked with the initials JS&S, for Joseph Sankey and Sons. Sankey was based in Bilston, Wolverhampton, part of the black country, near Birmingham. Sankey started the firm in 1890, his sons joined him in 1891. We believe the jugsto date from the turn of the Century. They have a wonderful warm hue and patina to the copper. The hand beaten reptile design which hand beaten from the reverse using the repousse technique. There are two sizes; size 3 and size 4 stamped to base. A perfect gift or would make a wonderful addition to any modern interior to use and enjoy.
Condition
Historical tarnishing to surface in places. We have only given them a light clean. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
