Here for sale is a fantastic copper tray. It is fully hallmarked with the maker Joseph Sankey and Sons initials. Sankey was based in Bilston, Wolverhampton (in the black country, near Birmingham). Joseph Sankey started the firm in 1890, his sons joined him in 1891. We believe the tray to date from the early part of the 19th Century.
The distinctive decorative bark edge and copper has a lovely patina. Perfect to style with candles to bring out the warm tones of the antique copper.
Tarnishing to surface of copper as we have only given it a light clean. It is handmade and shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
