Here for sale is a fantastic antique rectangular side table. Made from mahogany with useful shelf underneath. Lovely turned legs in the style of Edward William Godwin. Edward William Godwin (1833-1886) was one of the key figuresof the asethetic movment in England during the 19th century. He was a self taught architect in the neo-Gothic style. He later became one of the most important figures of the Victorian Japonisme style of furniture design. Approaching design with what he called 'judicious eclecticism', he sought to capture the clean lines and simplicity of Japanese design while making it desirable for Victorian domestic homes.
There is a small area of damage to the side of the top, please refer to photos. There is a historic repair to the leg.
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
