A fantastic antique uniform trunk. A japaned laqured metal uniform trunk. It has an original card inside for Lieutenant Pugh. It carries the crest stamp for HMS Eagle. The name used by several ships in the Royal Navy. The most famous being the Audacious-class aircraft carrier launched in 1946. The crest has the latin motto 'arduus ad solem', which means 'strenuous towards the sun' or 'difficult towards the sun'.
With original travel labels to the sides. The surface has lots of scratches and wear due to its travels but really does add to its charm. This is an original uniform trunk used by soldiers to use when out in the field. Great for any collector or to use as storage in a modern interior, to add character to a space.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
