Here for sale is a stunning turn of the century mahogany filing cabinet by the Amberg company. The Amberg company is an american company that specialised in fine office furniture at the end of the Victorian period and early 20th century. Featuring the patented filing mechanism by which the file is removed and replaced with a new file. The files that have been used are noted as can be seen in the drawers with files having been catalogued from 1900. Beautifully made cabinet with each drawer constructed with dove tailed joints. The front is a tambour made up of thin strips of wood linen backed which allows the front to bend around the top and behind the back.

Each drawer has a display to the front where a card can be slid in to place to describe the contents.  Perfect to get organised and is a fabulous piece for any home office.

The cabinet shows sign of its history and use. There is some damage to the inside of a few of the drawers. There are marks to the cabinet as can be seen in the photos. Several of the drawers are stiff, one in particular is difficult to push back fully in to position as the wood has had movement over time.

Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

We are a family company and love sourcing unusual pieces which bring a burst of individual style to the most modern of interiors, creating interiors with soul!
