A fantastic antique serving tray. Made from silver plate and stamped by the maker, Mappin & Webb of London and Sheffield.  Dating from the first part of the 20th Century. The company was founded in 1810 by Joseph Mappin Sr. and later Joseph Mappin and Son. From 1852 the company traded as 'Mappin Brothers'. This partnership was dissolved in 1859, but the name carried on until a partnership was established with Webb. This piece has a lovely ornate scalloped edge and hand etched classic cartouche to centre. A fabulous period piece, perfect for any table to use and enjoy.
Condition
Tarnishing and spotting to silver plate surface. Lots of surface scratches. Some areas of brass can be seen worn through the plate. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
